Food (SNAP) Assistance
SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Programs)
If you need assistance affording food, there is help available for community college students.
Starting March 2018, the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services changed their SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Programs) student policy for individuals attending community college. This change allows more community college students to be eligible for SNAP benefits. If you would benefit from increasing your food budget, you can apply for SNAP benefits.
There is also more information on SNAP Benefits at the Department of Human Services website.
There is also a Frequently Asked Questions page about SNAP for Community College Students.
After you have taken the step to apply, there may be more paperwork to complete.
