Position Requirements:

The Miller Center for the Arts’ mission is to enhance the life of students here at the college through providing exposure to the performing arts.  This is done through the presenting of unique performances in a variety of genres (music, theater, dance, etc.), the addition of theater-based courses, creation of student arts club(s) and making the facility for use by outside organizations.

The work study employee will provide clerical and basic marketing support to the Miller Center Director on a weekly basis.  The candidate must also have a car in order to deliver marketing materials.

• Strong writing skills in the areas of press releases, public service announcements, etc.
• Reliability and dedication to work – at least 10 hours per week needed
• Ability to walk stairs
• Available to work weekends as needed
• Must have access to a car to distribute information (posters/flyers/postcards) throughout immediate communities.

Position Description

• Assist with the Miller Center’s social media efforts and email blasts.
• Answer box office phone calls and process box office orders in the ticketing system.
• Help on event days with box office, selling merchandise, ushering and other duties as tasked
• Delivery of promotional materials to locations on campus and in Reading, West Reading and a few outlying areas.
• Creative thinking for ideas for marketing efforts.  
• Varied duties related to marketing, event rentals, campus events, and performances.
